DATART (data-art) VISUALISATION / EXHIBITION MATERIALS
Late last year I was also tasked with the creation of the visuals for an outdoor exhibition dedicated to DATART visualisation. It was both a stimulating and an interesting task, especially since it involved art that is based on data. If you are a curious person, who finds statistical data exciting, but also loves art, then you will love this exhibition. graphic design // 2023 |
COACHING & MASSAGE STUDIO
This was a true love-project for me and an honour and a privilege to have had the chance to create a poster and insta/facebook quotes for a dear friend of mine. After years of experience as a wonderfully talented masseuse, Kriszta embarked on a new adventure, studying Gestalt therapy, to become a Coach. To help her start her practice, she asked me to help in the visual communication. From the very start, we were determined to use pastel colours with beautiful nature images to convey the subtle (and sometimes not so subtle) messages. The poster is slightly 80's inspired, minimalistic with a feminine, soft touch to communicate the softer feminine energies, alongside the forces of nature. There is the element of circulation as well as the notion of wholeness and openness. We are after all an integral part of nature itself, following the cycle of life, the movement of the planets, the tides, the Moon etc. We hope you will find these images both soothing and eye-opening. It was a pleasure to design for Kriszta. graphic design // 2023 |
Airbnb - BRANDING A HOME
I love to travel, and I especially love booking airbnb homes. Why? Because, I find staying in an apartment more cosy, friendly and fun, than booking an impersonal hotel. The 2 room, super sunny apartment has lots of plants, so I definitely wanted to incorporate plants in its logo. It is a warm, cosy, boho home with a slight feminine touch. There is wooden furnishing, light coloured rugs, comfy nooks to read some books and magazines and the natural materials make you feel at peace and at ease. It is ideal for couples looking to get away from their busy lives while exploring the beautiful city of Budapest, as well as for digital nomads who want to work in a relaxing environment. During my stays in different homes, I have found, that having little notes, tips, helpful information and house rules printed out (and framed perhaps) really add to the feeling of hospitality and welcome. Also, a Guest Book is always a great way to get some feedback. graphic design // 2023 |
TBTM MAGAZINE DESIGN - Tiszta Balaton, Tiszta Művészet
This year I had the honour to design a new magazine, from scratch. It was so much fun, to develop a layout, play around with the grids and come up with something colourful, informative and simple design. I loved this project, even if it was a rather long one, with 96 pages to fill! Take a look! graphic design // 2022 |
FELSŐ-MÁTRA BRANDING & WEBSITE DESIGN
It is always a pleasure to do an entire (re)-branding project from scratch, to be there from the very start, all the way to the finish. Creating an identity (logo and all other identity elements) for the Upper Mátra region (mountains in the North of Hungary) was an exciting task. The logo is a simple geometric design, but with lots of colours (which later will serve as colour-codes for various departments/activities). A sleek, modern and fresh look for a region that is slowly gaining recognition and is attracting more and more young folks. Aside from the local population, there is a growing interest in the region among young people who are eager to explore and engage in various outdoor activities, such as hiking, mountain bike, horse riding, and skiing in the winter. I tried to incorporate all this into the design, the cool shades of blues meet the active green and fresh purple colours. The website was a collaboration with a website developer, who did an amazing job with implementing my ideas into a real, live, responsive site. I love the simple, user-friendly, laid-back design with its crisp, fresh colours that pop. For merchandise products (such as T-shirts) I stayed with the logo colours, but I deconstructed the logo itself to give the design a more dynamic look. graphic design // 2020 |
FUNZINE - AMS 2022
In 2022, the Funzine-AMS issue centered around sustainability, trash art and Hungarian design. Art exhibitions held form the months of September-December of 2022 followed this theme. New sustainability initiatives and art spaces, such as Jokai 7 in Mindszentkálla were introduced, along with the well known trash art concept of upcycling waste materials. Following last year's hexagon-design base, I tried exploring this shape further, adding more purpose, intention and colour to highlight the important information and give the pages even more structure. Drawing from this year's favourite colour palette, the magazine once again turned out to be a blast of colours, yet a consistent piece of work, where the colours matched the given page's purpose and/or brand identity. I really hope you will find joy in flipping through this fun magazine, because it was a lot of fun to make. graphic design // 2022 |
INFOGRAPHICS
Infographics are a great way to outline, highlight and easily communicate important statistics and/or more complex data. In today's fast-paced world, looking at an infographic just makes data stick. It is easy to comprehend and to see and understand important connections. I made a lot of environment consciousness related infographics for a Hungarian company in Tata, called T-Szol. These were some of my favourites. graphics // 2021-2022 |
CELEBRATING WOMEN AND LOST CULTURES I.
One of my favourite historical regions is Mesoamerica, its Mayan, Aztec and Inca civilizations that existed before the Spanish conquistadors arrived and wiped these fantastic cultures off the face of the earth. With international women's day upon us, I wanted to explore the role of women in these cultures, perhaps putting them in roles they may not have been able to possess back then. This is the case with the Mayan Shaman and the Aztec Warrior Woman (since women in the Aztec society were shut out of the military). Last but not least, I wanted to depict the Quoya, or the Inca Queen, "Queen of All Women", proud and showing some self-love, since we all need this in our lives. #equality #women #womeninpolitics #selflove #strength #power illustrations // 2022 |
CELEBRATING WOMEN AND CULTURES II.
I have always been fascinated by Africa, African culture, its colourful tribes and peoples. These drawing are an homage to this vast, dry continent, full of colours and culture! 1. The Maasai Warrior - in my case a woman - belong to the Nilotic ethnic group, inhabiting northern, central and southern Kenya and northern Tanzania. They are strong, brave and proud people. 2. The Zulu Woman - The Zulu are a Nguni ethnic group who live in Southern Africa. Zulu women are famous for their amazingly colourful, meticulously beaded headbands and bead-skirts. Their clothing indicates both gender and social status. 3. The Fulbe Girl lives in the Sahel. They are the largest nomadic pastoral community of the world. This girl carries the white drops of life (milk). 4. For a Himba Woman, her hair is her power. They use the "otjize" paste made of butterfat, ochre pigment and red ground earth to create their amazing hairstyles. 5. The Shona tribe are a Bantu ethnic group native to Southern Africa, primarily Zimbabve. They are famous for their healers and witchdoctors, so here is my healer! 6. The Hamar tribe lives in Ethiopia. They are a pastoral tribe with a culture that places a high value on cattle. During the dry season families move to live with their herds in grazing areas, and survive primarily on milk and blood from the cattle. 7. The Karo tribe are highly regarded for their practice of intricate face and body painting, using a combination of white chalk, charcoal, yellow rock, and iron ore to create some truly dramatic body artworks. 8. The Samburu are renowned for their unique social structure known as a gerontocracy, and their colourful clothing. Indeed, the word Samburu means ‘butterfly’, which refers to their many colourful adornments. 9. The San Bushmen are one of the world’s oldest tribes, traditionally skilfull hunter-gatherers, with a population of around 100,000 people. 10. Yoruba 11. Xhosa 12. Hadzabe 13.-14. Ndebele 15. FUNZINE SPECIAL EDITION - WASTEREVOLUTION 2021
This year's Funzine special revolved around the main theme of sustainability. Both the main event, the Wasterevolution conference and the art exhibitions followed this theme and tried to draw attention to our outrageous amount of consumption and production of waste. The conference took place on November 11 at the BMC. I took last year's design a step further, using the hexagon, but this time with more purpose and the intention to highlight important information and give the pages more structure. Drawing from the image colour palette, the magazine turned out to be a quite colourful, but consistent piece of work, and hopefully you will enjoy flipping through it, as much as I enjoyed designing it. graphic design // 2021 |
NAPRASZÁLLÁS / NAPRABÁR - BALATONAKALI
It is always such pleasure to work with people who are not just enthusiastic about an idea, but genuinely love a place (a location) and wish to share it with other, like-minded individuals. A young couple found an amazing vineyard with a small press-house near the Lake Balaton, at Balatonakali, and decided to make it into a meditation retreat. It would also feature a funky bar near the easing slopes of the vineyard and a view of the lake. The decided to call it: NapraSzállás - Sun-Landing and NapraBár - SunBar. Hence the shape and colour of the logo. They loved a previous drawing of my meditating astronaut and so it became their brand. Meet you there! graphic design // 2021 |
FUNZINE - AMS WASTE-REVOLUTION EDITION 2020
Every year it is a privilege to design the Funzine special edition - AMS Waste Revolution publication. This year I chose the hexagon shape as a feature motif along with some lovely popping bright colours to complement the Waste Revolution logo's green. Unlike previous years, this year's design is very structured in the sense, that the hexagons appear on all the pages, (one way or the other) and sometimes in groups, almost like a honeycomb structure. I loved playing with the shape, sometimes it gave the page design structure, other times it was playful and random. To enhance the earth-motif, but to tone it down slightly, I added a shade of brown that compliments the popping neon yellows, the purple and lovely coral. All in all, this is perhaps my favourite design so far. I hope you like it too. Be sure to pick up a copy from the 12th of October because there will be some amazing events, conferences, exhibitions and pop-up installations, all revolving around the concept of sustainability and recycled art. graphic design // 2020 |
PROJECT MÜNCHEN IMMOBILIEN (magazine, logos, covers, website design)
Every now and again I get a really cool and complex task, such as designing logos for a magazine. Naturally, I also had to design the pages and the website (facebook cover, instagram etc.) There were 2 main concepts, accompanied by 2-2 design versions to each. The first 2 cover concept (and pages) were a more feminine, light, lifestyle type of magazine, with powder hues, light greens, while the second 2 versions focused more on IT, technology, and architecture, using more blues, greys, cooler shades. graphic design // 2020 |
VÁNKOS - GUESTHOUSE LOGO DESIGN
Another wonderful task for the summer. I had the opportunity to design a logo for a small guesthouse with 4 rooms. There were a few guidelines, such as the "Á" being a house, and preferably using flowers (since the rooms will have names of the most popular local flora) or indicating that the town is located by the Tisza River. I soon realised, that the flowers work best, giving a lovely frame for the hand-drawn little house and the name. I also wanted to indicate the town, since there is another Vánkos near the Balaton. The last design was the winner, but all of the previous versions have grown quite dear to my heart. The colours were inspired by the house. Plain white, with wheat-blue window frames and a light brown coloured gate and fence. logo design // 2020 |
LILIPOP CAFE WEBSITE
Lilipop Café makes wonderful vegan, paleo, glucose and sugar-, and lactose-free sweets and cakes aside from the traditional indulging cakes and desserts. They recently wanted to redesign their original website, so II was thrilled to use their staple gold, white logo colours along with the colourful photos of their amazing sweets. The concept was simple: a scroll down site, with enough space to show (in blocks) their wide range of products as well as a Lilipop shop page, where you can actually buy or customise your cake order for any special occasion. (Please note: The stock photos used here are only for demonstration, Lilipop Café used their own photos for the live site). website design // 2020 |
WEDDING PRINTABLES
First time designing wedding printable elements, such as the menu card, seating cards, thank you gift notes etc. for a transcontinental wedding. And it was a blast! So, my Hungarian sister and her Indian boyfriend got married last year, and they kindly asked me to design some of the elements for their wedding. Naturally the flower decorations were done by a professional team, but I was honoured to dive into this project with them. My task was, to come up with an elegant but laid-back (minimalistic) design that also included an Indian motif. Yes, I know, "Indian" and its amazing colours, rich decor and fantastic scents and "laid-back" seem to clash, but I think we made it work. I chose a rather simple design, though slightly festive, with a pretty Indian motif that was visible on all the wedding designs, including the online "Save the Date", and Invitation, some website elements and all the printable materials: menu card, napkin holder, seating cards etc. graphic design // 2019 |
ZENE VARÁZS / MAGICAL MUSIC - CHILDREN'S MUSIC CD
Hello there! New year, new challenges! So this CD cover and CD booklet illustrations series was my first project for the year and it was a blessing to work on this. Truly! The story is about a teenager who drops her phone inside the piano and climbs after it, finding inside it, a magical world, full of wonders! With the pianist, she embarks on a wonderful musical journey, that touches upon some of the great big questions of LIFE, such as love, loneliness, grief, loss, joy, etc. This project is very dear to my heart, and I fell in love with the concept instantly. It was also my very first attempt at doing water colours illustrations, so please bear with me. I do hope you will enjoy listening to the CD once it hits the shelves. illustrations // 2020 |
MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!
Another year has flown by, and I've been really clumsy with updating this site - sorry 'bout that. However, my new year's resolution is, to manage my online portfolio better.... Thanks for sticking by and I wish you all a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! graphic design // 2019 |
FUNZINE 2019 - WASTER REVOLUTION EDITION
2019's Funzin focused on a movement very close to my heart: Waste management. Each year the theme is different, except that it is focused on sustainability. It is always great fun to get to work on the Funzine Special Edition, not only, because I love co-working with the people who make it possible, who organise amazing events around each year's theme, but also, because it is a creative, colourful, fun magazine that allows me to experiment. So even though it is terrible, but let's admit: waste is quite colourful. All that non-degradable plastic, the unnatural vivid colours make trash very colourful. It is also quite angled, therefore I used a lot o colours, polygons, triangles and angles in general when designing the pages. The result was a vivid, lively, fun to flip through magazine, with tons of interesting topics and articles. graphic design // 2019 |
BOMBAY SAPPHIRE - TALENTHOUSE CREATIVE INVITE
Another fun and creative invite from Talenthouse. The task was to create a stunning artwork that brings to life ‘Stir Creativity’, taking visual cues from, and incorporating the beautiful and iconic blue Bombay Sapphire bottle. Applicants were asked to push their creative boundaries and get experimental, to use illustration, graphic design, or mixed media to tell the story in a beautiful, visually inspiring way. "The expression of creativity makes us human but we learn to supress it. Stir Creativity is Bombay Sapphire's call to arms for everyone to engage with their inner artist and unlock their creative potential. Creativity is a basic instinct everyone is born with an urge to communicate – an unquenchable thirst for self-expression. Bombay Sapphire gin is the perfect canvas for creativity – its versatility and balanced flavour profile allows for endless opportunities in cocktail making. Bombay Sapphire gin contains 10 hand-selected botanicals from exotic locations around the world, which are then gently vapour infused to capture their bright, vibrant flavours." I decided to use my previous images of Indian Goddesses, a seductive lady figure and two astronaut figures to demonstrate creativity. In the end, I selected 10 images to submit for the creative invite. graphics // 2019 |
WINE LABEL DESIGNS
It is my first time doing this, so I am still learning, but I hope to do more in the future. This particular design was for a friend of mine (name and region has been altered), and since he really wanted to use the image of a ruin temple (medieval) as it very much defines the wine region, it's heritage and culture, I used the stylised image of the church. The concept was, to come up with a minimalist design, but with the wine type (red and white) very much visible - hence the colourful blots. I used two different typefaces, one for the general information and another for the names. Next time I will try beer labels :) stay tuned! Till then, drink more wine! graphics // 2019 |
WEDDING PREP
This is a totally new territory for me, but since my little sister is getting married, I thought I'd help out. So I am designing her save the date-, invitation-, menu and table cards. Her fiancé is from India (my birth country, and so very dear to my heart) so I am especially excited and happy to be a part of the wedding preparations. :) So the final design in the end was both modern and elegant, with a subtle touch of India (the little motif you find on each element). We wanted to create something that embraces both cultures, but has a more reserved tone to it. The final product turned out great, it fits perfectly with the location, the decor etc. All we've got left to do, is enjoy the wedding! graphics design // 2018 |
MÖVENPICK - SPARKLING COFFEE DESIGN
Talenthouse has had some amazing creative invites, among them the Mövenpick Sparkling Coffee Design, which was a fun activity from start to finish. It has been quite some time since I did package design, so it was a great opportunity to participate and test myself, as well as to gain more practice and feedback. I did learn a lot and drew many conclusions along the way that I have since been able to implement in my next designs and application to creative invites. For this particular project I focused on using a very soothing, pastel colour palette, since everything on the market, especially on the beverage shelves are super vivid, dark and aggressive. I figured, that a more subtle approach would work better. Even without the win, I think I have done alright, and went home with a great experience and knowing more about packaging design. I look forward to the next package design challenge! graphics // 2018 |
FUNZINE SPECIAL EDITION - CHRISTMAS DESIGN MARKET
This year, I had the privilege to design a second special edition magazine for Funzine, dedicated to designers and artists. The magazine lists almost 140 designers who will be selling design objects, (furniture, jewellery, home decor etc.) at a specially dedicated Design Art Christmas Market. Come and pick up a copy of the magazine and visit the workshops, meet the artists and perhaps, you will also find a unique Hungarian Design object to give as a present for your loved ones this Christmas! graphic design // 2018 |
FUNZINE - ART MOMENTS SPECIAL EDITION / 2018
Another year, another Funzine Special Edition for the Art Moments Festival. This year's theme was focusing on THE UNIVERSAL SEA - PURE OR PLASTIC?! a European initiative that deals with the problem of waste contamination of our natural waters. The one year project that involved bringing artists, innovators and businesses together to fight this epidemic ended with a huge festival - in collaboration with Art Moments - where exhibitions, street art, film screenings hackatons, workshops and a conference was held. These are a few sample pages from the original A5 size magazine. It is bilingual (Hungarian and English). Since the topic was water, I decided to use a lot of circles (water/ air-bubbles) and different shades of blues. Luckily, many artworks were similarly using amazing hues of sea blue and turquoise, so they blended well. Hopefully, anyone who grabs a copy, will enjoy flipping through its pages, finding an interesting program for themselves to attend. RESTAURANT MENU
One exclusive establishment, one logo, 3 restaurants - 2x3 menu designs. A Bistro menu, simple and minimalist, an A La Carte menu with refreshing green palm tree design and a VIP lounge menu. In the end, the owners decided on a two sided menu, so the final menus had to be re-sized and redesigned. I personally liked the taller, one-sided versions more, but it was overall still a fun task for the end of summer. graphic design // 2018 |
AGROFUTURA COMPOST-TEA TANK DESIGN
AgroFutura is a Hungarian company based in Túrkeve, who champion in climate-conscious, organic and eco-friendly agriculture. They have recently launched a compost-tea generator - a 30 litre tank - to help small land owners, gardeners to generate compost, that improves the soil quality and boosts plant growth organically. My task was, to design different stickers for these tanks, to appeal to customers. Since the company deals with bio, organic and eco-friendly techniques and products, I wanted to emphasise the pure plants, the organic creatures and the results on the designs. Most of the designs were more illustrative, (bugs, plants, roots, fungi and the organic creatures) while one was a leaf pattern design and the other a more modern, geometric design. graphic design // 2018 |
TOP BROKER - WEBSITE DESIGN
Top Broker is a company dealing with insurances, both for individuals and companies. It has a wide portfolio and many years of experience in the insurance market. The task was to redesign its highly outdated, (both in terms of design and content) website (www.topbroker.hu), to make it more user-friendly, content driven and more crisp and modern with regards to its design. graphics // 2017 |
KAV - CREATIVE / ADVERTISING MATERIALS
KAV is a company that make unique doors, windows etc. They needed a slogan as well as some ideas for how to advertise their brand. KAV makes highly specialised, very unique, massive glass windows and doors. They accentuate spaces. The idea was to communicate their flexibility and their ability to provide wider spaces, freedom. I designed some standard magazine ads (A4 as well as 2 page, double side folding ones) to demonstrate their innovative ways in opening up spaces. KAV is very proud of its strong R&D department and its unique designs. They are innovative and driven, giving their clients exactly what they dream of, so dare to dream big! graphics // 2017 |
MEGLEPKÉK - MOLINOS, BANNERS, FLYERS ETC.
Meglepkék is a company that provides unique and fun experiences to clients, such as bungee jumping from a helicopter, romantic dinner on a private cruise boat, drift driving and other awesome adventures, including water sports, or even navigating a real tank. graphics // 2017 |
1956 "EMLÉKEK BŐRÖNDJEI" WEBSITE
Commissioned by AMS - Art Moments / Hybrid Art. The project involved the creation of a website design, that revolved around 1956. However, instead of focusing on the historical aspects (the violence, the pain and the sufferings it has caused), the site aimed to look at the design and fashion trends of the time period, collecting images, photographs, stories and other of novelties from that era. Its fascinating and fun to read through. Check out: emlekekborondjei.hu graphics // 2017 |
XMAS CUSTOM GREETING CARDS & PRESENT STICKERS
Custom greeting cards and present stickers to put on your gifts! This year I went along with the animal theme (polar bear, brown bear, deer and rabbit) for the gift cards. The kids and my family loved it. Also, I chose to wrap my gifs in a simple brown paper to offset the colourful ribbons, cards and stickers. Happy Holidays You All! :) illustration // 2016 |
FUNZINE - ART MOMENTS SPECIAL EDITION 2016
For the second time, Funzine special edition 2016. Grab your copy and check out the art events / exhibitions in Budapest and Pécs. About the issue: the clients liked last year's designs, so we followed that, but this year it was less text heavy, more images and more space. graphics // 2016 |
CUSTOM BOARD GAMES FOR ANY OCCASION
I made this specific game for my very dear friend, Rita before she got married. :) It is a simply "Snakes and Ladders" type board game, based on travelling (since she loves to travel, just like me) and it had all sorts of questions related to her fiancé and her close friends, travel adventures and our shared memories through collage and after. All we needed was a dice and some figure pieces to move with. Its not a particularly long game, but its custom-made and lots of fun. graphics // 2016 |
SEASHELL & CORAL PRINTS
Some soothing prints for the summer. Using vector images of sea shells, corals and my own photos, I used a multiply layer technique to merge them and ended up with these images. Set against a light grey background, the turquoise and powder pink hues complement the white outlines, forming images that are soothing and comforting to look at. Meanwhile, the bottom row of gold and black resemble sea shell fossils stuck in amber. graphics // 2016 |
BUSINESS REPORTER MAGAZINE PAGES
Some design studies and mock-ups created for the Business Reporter magazine. Although I highly doubt the magazine would adopt the more minimalist concepts, it was great practice. The last page design did appear in print however :). YAY for the Brewing Industry! graphics // 2016 |
EVENTS
AMS - Art Moments is responsible for organising contemporary art festivals, exhibitions and other art related events. I have been working for them for the past 2-3 years on various projects. Though not complete, these are just some samples of the print materials I did. (The map illustration for the invitation was done by a very talented graphic designer colleague: Kata Szeder :) graphics // 2016 |
FUNZINE - ART MOMENTS SPECIAL EDITION ISSUE 2015
This month I was commissioned to design the Funzine special issue featuring the Art Moments festival. It was great fun, especially since the program organisers were open to the idea to use vivid, fresh colours (100% magenta and a darker shade of cyan). While keeping some of the elements from previous years (fonts, page numbering style and certain page design elements as well, just to keep it consistent) I had lots of freedom in designing the Hungarian / English pages, which is a dream come true :). Though it was a lot of work (I had 2 days to complete 40 pages and a cover) it was great fun! Big thanks to Zsuzsa at Art Moments, who provided all the materials. Thnx for all the fish... :) graphics // 2015 |
ZENITH ART EXCHANGE (CONCEPT DESIGN)
The Zenith Art Exchange program is an international visual art exchange programme, launched in 2013. The goals of Zenith Art Exchange are twofold; on one hand, it will help Hungarian artists to organise exhibitions abroad, on the other hand, it will allow the Hungarian public a glimpse into interesting foreign cultures. The new logo represents both the diversity of the types of arts that Zenith brings to the audiences, as well as the diversity of artists participating in the programme. graphics // 2015 |
THIS IS MEDTECH - INFOGRAPHICS
I've recently started working for Medtech in Brussels, creating images for their online and facebook articles. Fun and educational, each article is super interesting. Medtech deals with everything medical, research related, focusing on the most recent high-tech innovations in healthcare. Its super sci-fi... Check out their facebook site under "this is Medtech". Cool stuff! :) graphics // 2015 |
RATE ME BUSINESS BROCHURE
A good friend of mine has recently started a business of his own. In order to attract some investments for the future growth and prosperity of his business, he decided to make an introductory brochure of the company: who they are, what they do and how a potential investor could help boost their business. For the layout size I used a standard A4 paper size format, since it is easy to print and thus quite convenient. I took apart the lively green logo (bottom right corner) into bits and parts and used it as the design element. The background is striped. I went for a laid back style with a fresh and dynamic (bold green) but a more formal feel. graphics // 2014 |
MAKEUP ARTIST WEBSITE
Lately I have had the chance to work with a number of inspiring people, one, a very determined and strong willed makeup artist. Her idea was a clean, art-deco style website, with a strong emphasis on white and black. The logo is simply her initials, made as if it were light brush strokes, creating a fine and laid back image, similar to the overall design. Nothing too harsh, nothing too bold, instead we went for a very smooth, elegant style. Since the menu is located to the left, in a vertical format, it is manageable and quite easy to increase or decrease, hence it will not effect the overall layout design. graphics // 2014 |
MIXER FASHION STORE IN BUDAPEST
I have recently designed a fashion store portal for a sweet friend of mine (Mixer - made in Italy). She had a very definite idea of what the logo elements should be (name, color, kind of typography) and the task was a lot of fun. I used Titilium typeface, anthracite gray and a black and white (grayish) photo. The shop portal is simple as well, a white (lit up) logo (name) on anthracite gray background. graphics // 2013 |
FLASH ART MAGAZINE RE-DESIGNED
Re-designing (more like a face-lift) the Hungarian version of the internationally renowned Flash Art magazine was probably the largest (and most challenging and demanding) of my projects so far. It was my diploma work for Krea. The greatest challenge was to create a consistent but creative content; to make it more lively, more engaging, but aesthetic at the same time. As it is an art magazine, I wanted to respect the art works displayed and give enough room and emphasis to the photos, so I used large photos where I could and bold typography (titles, subtitles and quotation marks) to balance these off. I also re-designed the logo and created additional materials, such as brochures, posters and gift packs. The result was a very neatly, clearly organized and well proportioned magazine. graphics // 2013 |
CD COVER DESIGN FOR BARABÁS LŐRINC
It is always an honour to design for a talented artist. Lőrinc is the kind of artist, who sees music visually. We stuck to very basic geometrical structures (lines, cubes and curved edges) and a black and white (occasional grey) shades of colour to compliment the shapes. Lucky for us, the printing house got the cuts just right as well. :) The concept was clear and quite straightforward. Since the CD consisted of music by a single trumpet, but with the help of a loop station with three tracks, we used three plain stripes on the cover. The stripes then continue to pop up on various parts of the CD, thickening, or thinning out, just like the music of the various tracks do through the loop station. The typeface used, was Gotham Rounded. graphics // 2013 |
MESKA BRAND (Logo, web, newsletter etc.)Meska is an existing brand for a webshop that sells hand crafted design items, from jewelry through clothing to furniture and more. Since the brand logo features birds, the bird motif had to stay, however, instead of three birds, I chose to use only one; a bright cyan coloured. The reason to buy unique, single, handmade items is to look individual, to stand out of the crowd, hence the branch with the gray birds and the single blue bird. Aside from creating a new logo, the project included a website design, newsletter e-DM and banner designs, along with a facebook campaign, facebook application and event creation. A complex, but fun task.
graphics // 2013 |
HOTEL BRANDINGThe project was to create a logo for a design hotel called GEO THERMAL HOTEL NATURA, created by an interior design student at Krea. Inspired by nature, I stayed true to the natural colours, using a lot of brown, beige, green and different hues of blue, red and orange. Since the name was a given, I tried to shorten, simplify it, choosing a single G to as the hotel symbol. Geo means Earth, hence the letter "g" in a circle. To offset the colourful background, I thought of using this single "g" on a round glass surface. This gave the hotel reception, bar and restaurant a more sophisticated and refined look. Accompanying materials include: stationary products, door signs, room cards and coasters for the bar.

ANNIVERSARY PUBLICATIONThis book (pages and cover design) celebrates the 75 years of the Volkswagen Beetle. The sections in the book include history, old type advertising, modern ads, new designs and future trends. The cover design takes a retro edge, while the page layout and designs follow the different sections' imagery and layout design.
This publication was the first of my book designs and looking at it today, I would certainly do a couple of things differently, however, it was a great learning experience and I still love the VW Beetle! graphics // 2007 |
BOOK COVER DESIGNThe following book cover design was created for one of my favourite author's book, called "Journey by Moonlight" (Utas és Holdvilág in Hungarian). Antal Szerb's book is one of the most unsettling stories ever written, though without refuge and a real solution in the end, it is the most true as well.
The cover concept came from a recurring image out of the book: the hero goes for long walks, alone, down the narrow alleys and cobble-stone streets in various cities. The white cover is the actual book cover, while the black (its inverse almost) is the protective paper shield cover on the outside. graphics // 2010 |
CD DESIGN FOR PAZAR (punk band)One of my favourite school assignments was a CD cover design. Though the task was to design an album cover for any band (an existing or fictional), I figured its more fun to design something for a real band. I had some friends in a Punk band, who were preparing to release their very first album, so it was a no brainer... I came up with a three-fold album that can hold two CD-s: an album and a multimedia CD. The concept was simple: old-school punk-rock but with a fresh twist. I went back, all the way to the time of tape recorders, tapes and cassette players, to the Sex Pistols, the very first punk band. The black and white, the greys give it an old-school tone, while the harsh orange makes it fresh. In 2010, the band released their album with the same cover design but with a few changes to the layout concept. For more information check facebook // Pazar

PACKAGE DESIGNThe can designs were created based on a fictional brand, CUOCO, which I renamed as CUOCO & COMPANY. The task was to create a package family of 5 flavours. I chose the concept of using flower motifs: vines and leaves, that at first glance might not fit with food stuff at all, however, if we consider where these fruits and vegetable come from, the connection is quite obvious. The only exception to this is the TUNA can, however there can be no canned food family without some tuna fish right? Aside from introducing various flower motifs, I used colours to differentiate between the flavours, which help buyers to identify their desired product item more easily.

AUDI ANNUAL REPORT (2010)The Audi annual report was another one of my favourite projects. Though neither a car fan, nor very much into numbers, facts and figures, this task was really entertaining. I learned a lot during the process; having had to dig deeper into the world of Audi, making their concept, their brand values and identity my own, in order to try and create a report that would best fit their values and agenda.
The report was broken down into 7 sections, based on the automatic drive used in most cars today, as opposed to the manual ones. These sections were: PRND 321. Hence the sections: Philosophy, Revolution, Navigation, Design and Drive and 3 separate sections for the different financial facts and figures. Each main section included an article related to Audi's philosophy, revolution, navigation or design concepts, demonstrating the company's diversity, innovation and technical advancements etc. Following Audi's company policy, I used German and English language throughout the magazine. graphics // 2010 |
WAN2 MAGAZINE RELOADEDThe magazine cover design was a school project that I really enjoyed since this particular magazine was one of my personal favorites for many years. After redesigning the music magazine, it received a new heading and a fresher, more modern look, aiming to feature some stunning artists on the front cover.
The three cover designs I made featured Marilyn Manson, Björk and Faithless. I tried to use colors that are both vivid and strong, colors that draw the eye to the magazine cover. graphics // 2011 |
